Christmas Caroling is this Sunday, December 10th, following the 10:30 worship service. This is a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer to our friends who are “shut-ins”. Folks will carpool after a quick lunch following the worship service to various locations. If you would like to participate, let me know. Songbooks are provided. Families are encouraged to participate!
Wreaths Across America is a service project we will be participating in on Saturday, December 16, starting at noon. The plan is to meet at church at 11:00am and caravan to the event in Orange Park. This is a community service hour event. It is very important that we know you are planning on joining us. From the website-information about the event: On December 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), FL0323 – Friends of Jacksonville Memory Gardens will be helping Jacksonville Memory Gardens to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.
Equipped Youth Retreat is December 29-31, Villas by the Sea, Jekyll Island. This weekend event full of service, reflection, study and fun is open to those in 7th-12th grade(youth life youth). The cost is $110 per person and includes lodging and food. Please let us know if you are planning on attending. Thank you to those who have already responded.
Rock the Universe is January 26-28th. This is a weekend of Christian music at Universal Studios, Orlando. You will be there Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Your cost includes a ticket to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and two nights at Rock the Universe, on site hotel cost and parking. The cost for this event is $250. Please let me know if you are interested in going by December 15th. As this is a pre-purchased ticket event, it is nonrefundable once we buy the tickets. We do need chaperones and drivers- the number needed depends on how many youth attend. Let me know if you are interested in helping out.
