Our Beliefs

We confess Jesus Christ as our Savior and Living Lord. He is our sacrifice for sin and a model of the godly life. We seek to live out our lives as his disciples by worship and praise, service and care in the name of Christ. We invite you to join us.

As a Christian congregation with a Lutheran Heritage, we gather as the people of God around Word and Sacrament. Each week we receive the sacrament of the Holy Communion as we hear the Word of God.

Lutherans still celebrate the Reformation on October 31 and still hold to the basic principles of theology and practice espoused by Luther, such as:

  • Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura) – The Bible is the ultimate source of religious authority. It means that all Christian doctrine and practice should be based on the teachings found in the Bible, not on traditions, papal pronouncements, or human interpretations.
  • Faith Alone (Sola Fide) – Salvation is received through faith alone, not through good works, sacraments, or any other human effort. Faith is understood as a trust in the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ.
  • Grace Alone (Sola Gratia) – Salvation is entirely God’s gift, a free and undeserved favor. It is not earned or deserved, but rather freely offered by God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
  • Christ Alone (Solus Christus) – Jesus Christ is the sole mediator between God and humanity. He is the only one who can atone for sin and offer salvation.
  • Glory to God Alone (Soli Deo Gloria) – All glory and praise should be given to God for salvation and everything else.  God is the source of all good and that we should not take credit for anything we have or achieve, but instead give glory to God.
