Saturday is our next youth fundraiser, Dine with Us- Aloha! Our annual dinner fundraiser has a Hawaiian theme this year and promises to be a great event full of tikis and palm trees and all things Hawaiian! Saturday, February 11 is our event day. We ask that you arrive at 3 pm. Hawaiian shirts, long dark pants, and closed-toed shoes, please. This is a “formal event” where we serve guests much like in a restaurant. Help is needed in serving, cooking, and cleaning up. We usually serve over 100 people in our two servings that evening (5 pm and 7 pm). This is an “all hands on deck” event as we need lots of help (youth and parents) to make this a successful fundraiser. The night ends around 9:00 pm. Please let me know when you can help out. You will earn credits towards your youth account- dependent on how long you are able to volunteer.
Sunday, February 12, is Souperbowl of Caring Sunday– now known as Tackle Hunger.Youth will hold giant soup pots in the gathering area and will collect funds after worship. All proceeds benefit the Mandarin Food Bank. This event is a nationwide event and raises millions of dollars for local food banks. Please plan on helping out. We need help at all services. This is a community service event.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 19, for the fundraiser, Pancake Breakfast.
This is the Sunday before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, so we will be serving lots of yummy breakfast foods- pancakes, syrup, bacon, sausage, etc. Help is needed cooking and serving (cafeteria style). The breakfast is during Family Hour, 9:30-10:30 am. You will earn credits for your youth account for this free-will offering event.
Confirmed youth are invited to go on the Peru Mission trip this summer. Dates are tentatively July 19-28, 2023. If you have an interest in going on this trip, please let me or Pastor Phillips know. Cost is estimated at $1500- $2000 which includes airfare, hotel, meals, and transportation. You need a valid passport, so if you are interested, begin the passport process. Fundraisers will be planned to help offset some of the costs.
