Our next event is this Saturday, October 21: Party in the Patch, from 11 am-2 pm. We need youth to help hand out candy at the “carnival” games the children will play. Feel free to wear a costume! Party in the Patch is a community service event! We will also need help with setup and cleanup. For the first time, we will have 2 food trucks on site: Frozen Sweets and El Agave Azul. The day promises to be full of fun fellowship for our community! Let me know if you can help. Setup begins at 9:30 am, and cleanup will be immediately following the event.
Help is needed in the Pumpkin Patch, open weekdays 3-7, Saturdays, 10-7, and Sundays 12-7. You can receive credit towards upcoming youth events such as Rock the Universe and National Youth Gathering. This is also a community service hours event. Please sign up on the orange insert found in your Sunday announcements, on the signup board in the gathering area, or by responding to this email. We encourage families to volunteer together!
Wreath Across America is a service project we will be participating in this year. Saturday, December 16, starting at noon. This is a community service hour event. We are in need of drivers/chaperones for this very special event. The current plan is to carpool from church around 11am, returning around 2pm. Their website shares the following information: on December 16, 2023, at 12:00 pm (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), FL0323 – Friends of Jacksonville Memory Gardens will be helping Jacksonville Memory Gardens to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.
If you are interested in attending the National Youth Gathering, please let Pastor Phillips or myself know. Registration has opened. Cost, including airfare, is estimated at $1200. The dates are June 30-July 5 and takes place in Boerne, Texas.
Being confirmed? Confirmation will be celebrated on Sunday, October 29th at the 10:30 am worship service. Those being confirmed will meet with Pastor Phillips at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 22nd.
