Welcoming Vicar Jackson and Addie Watts

We are very excited to officially share with you that we have a new Vicar joining the staff and he will spend the next year as our intern! His name is Jackson Watts and he will be joining us Monday, June 1st, with his first weekend in worship Sunday being June 6th & 7th!!

Jackson and his fiancée Addie both graduate from seminary on May 16, get married May 17, and arrive in Jacksonville the last weekend of May!!

When asked for some information about themselves, they shared:

My name is Jackson Watts. I grew up in Edmond, OK and went to Oklahoma State University. I have spent the last 3 years in Pennsylvania getting my Masters of Divinity, where I met Addie. In my free time, I like to do anything outdoors.

My name is Addie. I’m from Winston-Salem NC originally but I have spent the last 8 years in Pennsylvania getting my undergrad at Grove City College and my Masters of Divinity at Trinity Anglican Seminary. In my free time, I love to hike and ride my bicycle. I also love to cook and eat steak and gourmet ice cream.

We are looking forward to moving to Jacksonville and being part of the Shepherd of the Woods community!

So, it sounds like they will adapt easily to our “when we meet, we eat!” motto!!

As is our custom, we “Pound the Vicar” (and Mrs. Vicar) on their arrival and you are invited to help by bringing in a pound of anything! A pound of pasta, a pound of canned tuna, a pound of flour, etc. – and of course, it doesn’t have to be exactly one pound – just anything that will help them establish their first kitchen pantry together. There will be collection bins in the Gathering Area through May 31. Cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and grocery and store gift cards are wonderful contributions as well.

Please lift Jackson & Addie up in prayer – for their finals and graduation, for their wedding and for safe travels to Jacksonville. And please join us in making them feel welcome and a part of the SOTW community!
