We celebrate Confirmation and observe the rite of Confirmation as Mya Iyalorde Smith makes public the affirmation of her baptism. We ask God’s blessing on her life as she seeks to show Christ’s love in the world. This is not the end of study, but the beginning of her journey of faith and service as an adult member in the church. May God continue to bless, lead, and guide her every day of her life! Those worshipping at the 8:30 service are invited to continue the celebration in the Fellowship Hall after the service with a special cake.
Reformation is Celebrated this Weekend – it is fitting to observe the Rite of Confirmation at the same time we celebrate the Reformation, begun when Martin Luther led the call to return to Biblical “faithfulness”? “Ecclesia reformata semper reformanda!” In English, “The Church Reformed, Always Reforming!” This motto speaks to the ongoing nature of the Reformation. God’s reforming work in his children is ongoing and accomplished through the Holy Spirit working through the Sacred Scriptures. Thus Biblical faithfulness is key to a continuance in his reformation of us!
