Youth Life News

All hands on deck! Our first fundraiser of the year is coming up this Saturday, September 12th. We are hosting a traditional Spaghetti Dinner for the congregation (and friends). This is a great fundraiser and a fun time for everyone involved. The fundraising events help youth pay for events such as Rock the Universe and Confirmation Camp. Please plan on being at the church at 4:30Wear a black polo or button down shirt, long black pants and closed-toed shoes (for kitchen safety). We serve dinner from 6:30-7:30pm. Parent pickup is at 8:30pm-ish. Thank you to Ms Michelle for cooking for this awesome event. We expect to feed about 80 people! See flyer above and below!

As a reminder, there is no Youth Life meeting this Sunday, September 13th.

Mark your calendars for October 3, 8:45am, for Pumpkin unloading. This is a great way to earn community service hours. It is fun and goes quickly. The more hands we have, the quicker it goes. All help is needed- even if you cannot lift anything heavy, we have a job for you! Handing out water, sorting baby pumpkins and gourds, helping to set up the patch tent, there is something to do! Please plan on joining us 8:45-noon, or whenever you can. Wear clothes that can get dirty and wear closed toed shoes.

October 4-31 is the annual Pumpkin Patch. We need volunteers daily for various shifts in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. Another great way to earn service hours and also credit towards upcoming youth events. Please see me or Addie to learn more. Sign up sheets are in the church hallway. For more detailed information, contact Jackie Hudson at 904-728-0890.

We have been offered an easy fundraiser to be held October 17 at the Deerwood Country Club subdivision. We will have a mini pumpkin patch just for the residents there. The event is 2pm-7pm. Youth who participate will benefit from the sales in the form of credits to their youth accounts. More details will be provided. We did this event 2 years ago and sold a lot of pumpkins in a short period of time. Addie will share more information as it becomes available.

October 24th is our annual Party in the Patch. This is a fun Saturday event from 11-1. Youth are needed to help hand out candy to the young trick-or-treaters and to run the games for the kids. Please arrive at 10am to help set up, parent pickup will be around 2pm, after cleanup. Lunch is provided from the Food Trucks we will have on site. Community service hours will be earned for this event.
