Greetings from the Peru Mission Team and your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Thursday was a busy day with projects around the property and time spent with the children in the church and the community. Our team was able to begin some upgrades in the kitchen used by the church and Kingdom Kids, several new murals are underway and
the playground and on the property gates.
We have been repairing plaster and installed a new kitchen sink & surrounding tile. Concrete in Peru is very different from concrete in America!! The misioneros are a hard-working bunch for sure! We were able to spend some time with the Kingdom Kids after school and meet them and converse with very curious and energetic children from the school in the community around the church, which is called Hualhuas, by the way.
Friday was a wonderful day of making new friends and sharing God’s love through the incredible generosity of this congregation. We visited four schools where tears, hugs and tremendous hospitality was experienced. The schools were in very small rural communities where the Life Changer Uniform blessing had been received. We were warmly greeted and we were able to put faces and names to the flesh and blood children whose lives were changed by your donations and faithfulness.
We heard over and over again from parents, teachers and children how they felt forgotten by the whole world. But now, because of the gifts and our traveling to accompany them as Christ accompanies us, all reminded us that God forgets no one, and we all felt His powerful presence in our lives; Peruvian and Lutheran missionary alike. It was truly an amazing day! Thank you to the SOTW family for making this ministry possible. More to come soon!
Peace/Paz
