Lent begins on Ash Wednesday – February 18 – and lasts the forty days (not counting Sundays) until Easter. It has traditionally been a solemn time of fasting, meditation and sacrifice. To use up supplies, that would otherwise go bad during these 40 days, a Feast was created and celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday – Some call it Mardi Gras, some call it Shrove Tuesday!!

Many churches have their Shrove Feast on a Tuesday, but we begin our feast on Sunday with a scrumptious breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and more! Our breakfast this year is being hosted by the Men’s Bible Study group they will be doing all the prep, cooking, serving and clean-up!! All men are invited to pitch in – contact the church office to sign up.

There is no cost for breakfast but we do invite free-will offerings. Any funds raised will be split between the Friends of Madagascar non-profit (that our own Pr. Eric Swensson serves) and the church’s Pastors Discretionary Fund.
