This year we will gather at the St. Stephen’s Retreat and Conference Center in Titusville, FL from Friday, Feb 28 through Sunday, March 2nd. St. Stephen’s is a lovely waterfront retreat center with beautiful study and worship spaces. There will be time for study, worship, individual time and fellowship.
Our retreat speaker is the Rev. Julie Smith (co-founder of St. Paul Lutheran Seminary). The theme is based on Romans 5:1: “Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Peace is hard to come by in our world. The opportunities for conflict seem to be without limit. In families, among classmates, in churches, in neighborhoods, between nations, opportunities for conflict lurk around every corner. And at the heart of all that conflict is the deep conflict sinners have with God. But Paul tells that through Christ we have peace with God. In this retreat we will spend time exploring what peace among neighbors and peace between God and us really means. We will consider obstacles to peace as well as how those obstacles can be torn down for the sake of peace. We will dig into a number of scripture passages in search of the peace that passes understanding.
The cost is $225 per person based on double rooms. You may select who you are rooming with, or we can match you with a roommate. All rooms are motel-style.
