Lent is Observed for the Forty Days – begining Ash Wednesday – until Easterexcluding Sundays. As we anticipate the season of Lent, you are invited to make time each week to join us in worship and take time to reflect on the gift of God’s son.  We begin on Ash Wednesday, March 5, with worship at Noon and 6:30pm, offering the imposition of ashes at both services.

Then, beginning on Wednesday, March 12 we offer Lenten Worship at Noon and at 6:30 with a Fellowship Meal of soup and salad at 5:30pm.  Our focus of reflection this year is on Authority. The authority of scripture in and on our lives, Christ’s authority to forgive and our response, the two-kingdom authority of heaven and earth and our life in both, and the authority God has given us through Christ to love and serve others. May He bless our worship and reflections and may we grow in faith on our Lenten journey.

Lenten Soup & Salad Dinners – Each Wednesday during Lent we gather for a time of fellowship over a shared meal.  Each week we offer two soups (one is always gluten-free) and a salad, a simple meal to help us reflect on our abundant lives and the blessings of the Lord.  We will serve continuously from 5:30pm to 6:15pm so join us as you are able.  We ask that you sign up for the meals each week using the yellow Connect Card. Invite a friend, neighbor or family member.

Guest Chefs Needed!! – If you would like to help with the soup and salad dinner one week (or more) we are looking for two people each week to make the soups, one person to help with the salad and set up and two people to help serve soups and clean up.  Please use today’s Connect Card to indicate your interest.

Lenten 5-5-5 Service Project –  This year we will support our local community by collecting and delivering items that will be of help to the homeless.  We will be helping Beaches Mission House in Jacksonville Beach and St Francis House in St. Augustine.  We have a goal to collect 500 items and raise $500 during the 5 weeks of Lent.  Please see today’s insert with the list of items most needed by these organization.  There will be collection bins in the Gathering Area through Easter Sunday.
